Welcome back to another series of PedCel! 🇯🇵 It’s been a while!

Kyoto Day 4 is D-Day — kimono day! We rented our kimono and set off with plans to visit Kiyomizu-dera and try the famous Gion Duck Rice 🦆🍚. Along the way, we passed through so many beautiful temples, including Kenninji (yes, that one with the serene lotus lake view 🌿)

We explored Gion, bumped into the famous mochi guy, and had to stop for dango with sweet soy sauce, it was SO good, you have to try it 😭🍡. Quick ice-cream break before finally heading to Gion Duck.

Originally, we planned to wear the kimono all day, but we went all-out with the wooden sandals (trying our best to respect the culture 🙏)… let’s just say it was not easy walking in them 😅. So we returned the kimono and continued our day at Tenjuan Temple. It was under renovation, but no worries, there were still plenty of temples around, and it was totally worth exploring.

We ended the day walking past Nishiki Market (no snacks this time 👀, price was uh tourist price) and wrapped up dinner with an amazing chicken ramen (the broth was insanely savory and umami 🍜🤍)
