San Diego CA. Morena Neighborhood 7:50PM 07/28/2024. A 911 call is made by a resident who states her unit is on fire. San Diego Fire Department is quickly dispatched and at the scene within minutes. When Firefighters arrived, heavy smoke could be seen coming from a first floor unit. SDFD was able to gain quick access to building and the unit on fire. SDFD was able to get containment and knock down of the fire in about 20 minutes. Firefighters stayed on scene for several hours to ventilate the building and await an investigation to be conducted. Red Cross was also called to assist with the residents who will be displaced. No further information at this time.
