📍 About This Location / この場所について

Minami Park in Kiryu, Gunma is a spacious community park known for its quiet walking paths, sports facilities, and seasonal beauty. Even though most of the autumn colors had already passed on this visit, there were still pockets of deep red leaves, clear blue skies, and the soft sound of crunchy leaves underfoot — perfect for a gentle walk.
This park is especially famous for its 645 plum trees (235 white, 410 red), which draw many visitors each spring. It also features a 1.3 km jogging course, tennis courts, a baseball field, an outdoor concert/event stage, and regular classes such as plum-tree pruning workshops and wild bird observation sessions.
I lived next to this park for several years, and every time I return to Kiryu to visit family, I come back here for a slow morning walk. It’s a place that always feels welcoming in any season.

桐生市の南公園は、静かな散歩道や豊かな自然、そして季節ごとの美しさが魅力の広々とした公園です。訪れた日は秋の色づきがほとんど終わっていましたが、ところどころに深い赤色の葉が残り、青空と落ち葉の音が心地よい散歩になりました。
この公園は**645本の梅（白梅235本・紅梅410本）**でもよく知られ、春になると多くの人が訪れます。1.3kmのジョギングコース、テニスコート、野球場、屋外ステージがあり、梅の剪定教室や野鳥観察会などの講座も開かれています。
数年間この公園のすぐ隣に住んでいたこともあり、家族に会いに桐生へ帰るたびに、ここで朝の散歩をするのが楽しみのひとつです。どの季節に来ても、変わらず優しい時間を届けてくれる場所です。
