A Refreshing Day Trip to Bentong, Pahang – Exploring the Morning Market & Lou Kok Kopitiam

Bentong, a charming town in Pahang, is well known for its fresh produce, local delicacies, and laid-back atmosphere. My recent day trip there was a delightful experience, especially my visit to the Bentong Morning Market and a satisfying breakfast at Lou Kok Kopitiam.

Bentong Morning Market – A Burst of Local Flavors

Arriving early in the morning, I was greeted by the lively atmosphere of the Bentong Morning Market. This market is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys fresh ingredients, local street food, and a glimpse of small-town life. Vendors were selling everything from Bentong ginger (renowned for its rich aroma and spiciness) to fresh vegetables, fruits, and handmade snacks. I also noticed a good selection of traditional kuih, which added a nostalgic touch to the experience.

One of the highlights was the tau fu Poh.The fresh produce, especially the Bentong ginger, really stood out—it’s no wonder people travel here just to buy it!

Breakfast at Lou Kok Kopitiam – A Taste of Tradition

After exploring the market, I headed to Lou Kok Kopitiam, a well-known spot for breakfast in Bentong. The place had a kopitiam charm with its tables, vintage decor, and the comforting aroma of traditional Hainanese coffee.

I ordered a Kopi C , wonton mee, roast pork, tau fu poh and Lobak.

The service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable, making it a great spot for a satisfying local breakfast before continuing to explore Bentong.

Final Thoughts

Bentong is a fantastic destination for a short getaway, especially if you love fresh markets and authentic local food. The Bentong Morning Market offers a great variety of local produce and snacks, while Lou Kok Kopitiam is an excellent place to start your day with a comforting, traditional breakfast.
