This is another video in my series “Walks in Hampshire” accompanied by my Whippet (Logan). In this episode I take a 3 mile circular to the North & West South of the pretty village of Easton in Hampshire (located 2.75 miles to the North East of Winchester).
My walk starts at the Church of St Mary to the West of the village (where I park my car) and I take a stroll passing by two pubs (The Cricketers & The Chestnut Horse) and a variety of pretty thatched cottages and attractive houses.
Leaving the village, I follow a footpath over fields and cross the River Itchen which is in full flow after a few days of rain in the area. On the Northern bank of the river, I explore the Church of St Swithun's at Martyr Worthy and then head West (after discovering a boundary stone near the footpath).
I eventually make my way to Abbots Worthy(following the Pilgrims Way. Itchen Way, Alan King Way & St Swithun's Way!) after passing underneath the M3 motorway.
My route then tales me South and then over the river Itchen again at Abbots Worthy Mill. I pass through the grounds of the old Fulling Mill, back under the motorway again and along a ridge that takes me back to Easton.
Once again I was lucky with the weather – a fresh Autumnal sunny morning in dry conditions.
