The Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad operated its annual fall foliage passenger excursions after skipping the 2020 season. As usual, the main source of power for these trips was locomotive No. 425, considered to be one of the loudest operational steam locomotives in the country. However, with the completion of the Reading & Northern's second steamer, No. 2102, getting nearer, and 425's 1472-day inspection due at the end of 2022, this round of excursions could have potentially been 425's last time as the star of the show, at least for the time being. Neverless, the engine performed flawlessly, putting on a fantastic performance charging up the line's many grades and letting the sound of its Boston & Maine and Reading 6 Chime whistles echo throughout the valleys.
