Surprise After Christmas: Delayed Delight!

There is a peculiar delight in gifts that arrive after Christmas, rather like finding a forgotten sweet in your coat pocket when dinner is already a fond memory.

Lainey was blessed with two more treasures from her Aunt—for gifts, like joy, do not always arrive on the exact day we expect them. She took immediately to her Cookie Monster slipper booties and has scarcely removed them since, padding about as though they were made just for her. Just as beloved is her Little People Nativity set, which has been in near-constant use, especially the animals, who seem to be her particular delight.
