WHAT IS THE POLICE BRIEFING EXERCISE?
The Police Briefing Exercise is one of the most important parts of Stage 3 of the Online Assessment Centre. You will step into the role of a police constable and be presented with a realistic scenario involving community concerns or an ongoing issue.

You’ll receive three separate sets of information about the scenario and be asked 12 verbal response questions across those stages. You’ll need to record your answers using a microphone or device camera.

HOW LONG IS THE POLICE BRIEFING EXERCISE?
The total assessment lasts around 30–40 minutes, including reading time and verbal responses.

HOW WILL YOU BE ASSESSED?
You will be assessed against the updated Competency and Values Framework (CVF) — specifically:

Public Service (Value)

We are innovative and open-minded

This exercise is designed to test how you communicate, assess risk, and manage evolving situations with empathy and professionalism.
