American Airlines Flight 587: The Forgotten Tragedy Over Queens

On November 12, 2001—just two months after the 9/11 attacks—New York City was once again struck by fear and tragedy. American Airlines Flight 587, an Airbus A300, took off from JFK Airport carrying 260 people, most of them heading home to the Dominican Republic.
