Welcome back, Educators.
Let's explore who is absent or late by using the Timeline chart.
We have created this form to add who is absent or late.
We save the data on this spreadsheet.
Our mission is to show who is absent or late on a specific date.
We've added a custom number format to the date.
We need to create a helper table.
And two dropdown menus.
The value in cell F1 comes from cell I1.
The value in cell G1 comes from cell H1.
In cell F2, type this formula:
COUNTIFS(A:A,E2,C:C,$F$1)
It returns the total number of absences or late at a specific date.
Copy the formula down.
We've added a conditional format to this column.
Create a dropdown menu that contains the students' names.
And another one with the words Absent and Late.
In cell G2, type this formula:
COUNTIFS(A:A,E2,C:C,$F$1,B:B,$G$1)
It returns the number of absences or late of a student at a specific date.
Copy the formula down.
We've added a conditional format to this column.
Select the helper table, then click Insert chart.
Move the chart to a new sheet.
Select Timeline chart.
Activate the checkboxes.
Activate the checkboxes if you like.
The blue line represents the total absent or late at a specific date.
The red line represents the number of absences or late of a student at a specific date.
Here appear the date and the name of the absentee or late student.
Here is the name of the month and the year.
Here are the days.
We can zoom in or out by dragging the range selector.
Or by clicking the preset buttons.
See you soon in the next part of this lesson.
That’s it, have fun. Thanks for watching.
