BRANDIED CHERRIES
INGREDIENTS
1-pound cherries, pits removed
1 cup water
1 ½ cup cane sugar
1 cup brandy
1 vanilla bean, split down the middle
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine the water and sugar in a pot, heat to medium heat, melt the sugar and stir.
2. Add the cherries, cook for 2 minutes.
3. Stir in the brandy, then remove from heat.
4. Put the vanilla bean into a quart jar.
5. Pour the cherries into a jar, fill to the top of the jar with remaining liquid.
6. Allow to cool some, refrigerate 4-6 weeks.
*You’ll have decent flavor after a few days. Fully developed flavor after 4-6 weeks.
