Episode Four | Exploring Istanbul | İstiklal Street | Blue Mosque

Day 2 of our trip. We arrived in Istanbul on November 15, 2025.

We had already booked Montegra Hera Hotel near Taksim Square via Booking.com. I would also recommend checking reviews from Google Maps. The hotel was clean, though not to my expectations(we booked the cheapest available). We paid Rs. 15000 for one night for three people, but the room was so small that there was barely enough space to move around.

The distance from Taksim Square is around 1 KM.

The buffet breakfast made it even better. There was a huge variety of cheeses, bread, and olives with cereal and juices, and tea. So it made it up for the room.

The Istanbul card is the way to get around if you want to take the metro, bus, and tram.

In order to visit the Blue Mosque in Sultan Ahmed from Taksim, take the metro from Taksim to Kabatash, which will cost you 35TL per person. Then, from Kabataş to Sultan Ahmed on the tram will again cost you 35TL.

The tram has a station just in front of the Blue Mosque. After exploring the mosque, we decided to head over to the Asian Side of Istanbul.

We walked to Eminio from Sultan Ahmed, 30 30-minute walk, so we could take the ferry to the Asian Side.

After arriving at Eminino, we recharged our card as the ferry costs 50TL per person. The ferry will take you to Kadekoy on the asian side. If you are living on the European side, then the last ferry is at 9pm from Kadekoy to Eminino.

I did not film as it was dark and crowded.
