Karl Marx is considered one of the great philosophers of socialism. Marx was the founder of modern Communism. He produced landmark works for communism like the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital. Marx was born in Trier, Rhineland in the German state of Prussia. Karl Marx worked as an editor in the newspaper Rheinische Zeitung in Cologne, Germany. His newspaper was closed on the orders of Tsar Nicholas I of Russia. Then he moved to Paris to launch a new newspaper with his friend Arnold Ruge.
