Echo Fantasia in the Ionian Mode by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck performed by Ben Bloor on the 16 stop 1975 (restored 2005) Flentrop organ of the Little Oratory on Thursday 11th February 2021.
Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck was undoubtedly one of the most influential composers of the late-Renaissance/early Baroque eras. He spent most of his working life as organist at the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam, and is credited with majorly progressing fugal writing for the keyboard and igniting the onset of the North German Organ School.
