퇴계 이황이 애정을 갖고 자주 찾던 정자 / The pavilion that Toegye Yi Hwang loved and often visited

안동은 양반의 고장이다. 서원과 누정은 선비 문화의 꽃이다. 안동의 누정 가운데 고산정(孤山亭)은 퇴계 이황이 애정을 갖고 자주 찾던 정자이다. 청량산 자락이 뒤편에 자리하고, 앞으로는 강폭이 넓은 낙동강을 내려다보는 자리에 있다.
고산정에서 보면 낙동강 너머 우뚝 솟은 암반이 자태를 뽐내며 서 있다. 정자 건너편도 소나무 숲이 우거진 고산(孤山)이 우뚝 솟아 있다. 그래서 정자 이름이 고산정이다.

고산정은 퇴계 이황의 제자인 금난수(琴蘭秀)가 조선 명종 때 건립한 정자이다. 이황이 예안에 도산서당 지을 때 「도산서당 영건기」를 지을 정도로 두 사람의 관계가 각별했다. 금난수는 처남인 조목(趙穆)의 권유로 퇴계의 문하에 들어갔다. 퇴계 이황은 출세를 지향하지 않던 그의 사람됨을 좋아했다. 금난수는 임진왜란 당시에 의병장으로 활약하기도 하였다.


Andong is the home of noblemen. Seowon and Nujeong are the flowers of scholar culture. Among Andong's pavilions, Gosanjeong was the pavilion that Toegye Lee Hwang frequently visited with affection. The foot of Cheongnyangsan Mountain is located in the back, and it is located in a position overlooking the wide Nakdonggang River in the future.
Looking from Gosanjeong, the towering bedrock over the Nakdonggang River stands proudly. On the other side of the pavilion, a high mountain with a thick pine forest rises. That is why the name of the pavilion is Gosanjeong.

Gosanjeong is a pavilion built by Geum Nan-su, a disciple of Toegye Lee Hwang, during the reign of King Myeongjon of the Joseon Dynasty. When Lee Hwang built Dosan Seodang in Yean, the relationship between the two was so special that he wrote 「Dosan Seodang Younggeongi」. Geum Nan-soo entered the school of Toegye at the recommendation of his brother-in-law Jo Mok. Toegye Lee Hwang liked the way he was a person who did not seek success. During the Japanese of Korea in 1592, Geum Nan-soo served as a righteous army commander.
