It's the end of an era for the once-booming retail giant, Fry's Electronics. Today, February 24, 2021, Fry's announced that all 31 of their locations are now permanently closed-effective immediately. According to their website, which now only links to a message from the company, this difficult decision came as a result of the pandemic.
The very first Fry’s Electronics store opened in 1985 in Sunnyvale, CA. Fry’s was the go-to big box store for almost all of your electronic needs. They sold consumer electronics, household appliances, computer hardware, and so much more. Many of their stores were known for their decorative themes. In 2020, I had the opportunity to visit the Roseville, CA location, which was railroad-themed. I’m so glad I filmed this store, as I had no idea that its fate would come so soon. Farewell, Fry’s Electronics, you had a good run. Enjoy the video.
