[Recorded: 3-4-21] This is it. The days of Macy's store at Hilltop Mall are numbered. In this video, I will be doing a final tour of this store, which opened in September of 1976. Originally, this building was occupied by Emporium Capwell until its closure in 1996. Macy’s, which originally occupied the current day Walmart, moved into this store in 1998, leaving their original store vacant until Walmart took it over in 2007.
In January of 2021, it was announced that this store will be closing by the end of March. I have only been to this store once before, and I was determined to visit it one last time before it’s gone. Enjoy this final walkthrough of the last remaining original anchor of Hilltop Mall. Enjoy.
For those who are interested in Hilltop Mall itself, it's, to my knowledge, now permanently closed. Every entrance is now completely boarded up and there were no signs that it will reopen anytime soon, if ever. I wish I was able to document it, but it is what it is.
