Seth Singleton on AI, Art, and the Campaign Comic Book

In this conversation, we're joined by Seth Singleton — writer, podcaster, comic book creator, and educator.

Seth has known Owen since 2010 and joined the campaign after what he calls his "West Wing moment" — a call from an old friend asking if he wanted to be part of something different. Now he's working on our campaign as a writer and storyteller, and is working on something we're incredibly excited about: a campaign comic book!

We discuss:
• The vision for the comic — showing what Maryland looks like with Green policies enacted
• Why comics are powerful political tools (the US government knew this in the 1940s)
• AI's possibilities and limits — what it can't replace about art and creation
• Intention as the key to technology design
• The campaign's three-step approach: corporate tools → beneficial businesses → self-hosted open source
• Small-scale community data centers as an alternative to hyperscale extraction

Seth brings a unique perspective: "Art is created by beings who have an informed understanding shaped by their soul... AI doesn't go through the process that artists go through."
