This knot is strong, sturdy and easy to tie! It should NOT be used for life support applications, but is great as a utility knot until I can confirm how strong this loop knot actually is!
I did test it with a 12:1 mechanical advantage pulley system (using my body weight on the pull strand) and applied increasing tension using a progress capture mechanism. It handled the tension very well! No failures occurred during my tests! I predict it endured a couple thousand pounds of force.
