This protein shake is my go to healthy breakfast almost everyday. It's thick, frosty, chocolatey, keeps me full for hours, and even helps cut afternoon cravings.
Chickpeas & oats=nature's Ozempic! 🔥🔥🔥 (Sounds weird but you've got to try it!)
This smoothie is especially great for women in midlife who want to lose weight and keep it off (so… basically everyone that watches my channel 😄). It’s flexible, customizable, and easy to adjust to your own calorie and nutrition goals.
🥤 FULL RECIPE: CREAMY CHOCOLATE FUDGE PROTEIN SHAKE
(≈300–320 calories, depending on amounts)
INGREDIENTS: (Shopping links are below if you want them)
• Chocolate protein powder – 40 g (about 1½ scoops if using Orgain)
• Orgain Creatine 1 scoop/5g (I forgot to add this in the video but creatine is great for recovery)
• Unsweetened vanilla almond milk – 1 cup (240 ml)
• Cocoa powder (dark/special dark) – 1 Tbsp (5 g)
• Zero-calorie sweetener – to taste
• Sugar-free chocolate syrup – 2 Tbsp (31 g)
• Old fashioned oats – 2 Tbsp (≈10 g)
• Baby spinach – ½ cup
• Banana – about 1/2 of a medium banana
• Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained – 40 g (about ¼ cup)
• Ice – 1 cup (or to desired thickness)
DIRECTIONS:
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until thick, creamy, and frosty.
Adjust ice or liquid to get your perfect texture.
WHY THIS WORKS:
The chocolate and bananas make it taste good. The combination of protein + fiber-rich oats and chickpeas helps keep you full for hours and naturally cuts afternoon cravings.(There's actual science behind this that I won't attempt to explain.)
OPTIONAL VARIATIONS:
• Add ¼ cup pumpkin purée + pumpkin spice (fall version)
• Adjust oats or banana to fit your calorie goals
• Skip spinach when traveling or if the color bothers you
• Use any protein powder that fits your nutrition needs
• Peanut butter or PB2 is a great addition if it fits your calorie goals (I'm allergic to peanuts so I skip those)
