After I caught I025 in Greenbrier, I decided to chase it across Nashville to this crossing as I knew it'd be going down the Chattanooga Sub due to the curfew on the S&NA North. I got here and got set-up, and, after about half an hour of waiting, I was able to catch I025 here once again with its SBD Heritage Unit mid-DPU!

This crossing is another nice one, and I believe is one of the last four crossings on the Nashville Terminal to feature incandescent lights at it, along with being the only "mainline" one (the other three are all over on the CSX West Nashville Branch). It appears that, originally, there was a 1960s or 1970s L&N install here. However, in the 1990s, CSX replaced both of the cantilevers here with the current ones along with possibly the relay case, though leaving the gate masts alone. Then, sometime between 2009 and 2011, CSX replaced both gate mechs here with a pair of Safetran ones. After that, sometime between 2011 and 2013, both of the WCH mechanical bells here were replaced by the current Safetran Type 2 e-bells. The crossing then remained unchanged for a good few years after that, but then, sometime between 2019 and 2021, CSX upgraded the mast lights here to LED. Finally, sometime in 2021 as well (though possibly very early 2022), CSX replaced the gate mast & gate mech on the far side with the current ones. Thankfully, since then, however, no other changes appear to have occurred to this crossing. I'm especially glad to see that the overhead lights here have somehow managed to remain incandescent, especially since nearly the rest of the Nashville Terminal is fully LED these days. The gate mechs here don't seem to entirely lower all the way, especially the closer one, though they do lower enough for the bells to shut-off. Hopefully the equipment here remains largely unchanged for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I was finally able to record this crossing when I did.
One of Nashville's many Federal Signal Eclipse 8 sirens can also be seen just beyond the crossing. This one replaced an ATI HPSS-16 siren back in the early-2010s; certainly a good upgrade I'd say. These sirens are tested on the first Saturday of every month at noon, weather permitting. I've been meaning to get up here and get one recorded at some point, TBQH.
