Here’s Seven Years Gone from Richie Sambora’s third solo album, the 2012 Aftermath of the Lowdown!

I rank this one as one of the best songs Richie has written in his career. It’s really on a level of its own compared to the rest of Aftermath of the Lowdown. It feels very biographical for Richie’s tough period. The chorus is such a strong one. When the song was released I wasn’t really fond in the heavy bridge. It felt out of place. I’m still not overly fond of it but I enjoy it. The solo is a real dirty one. He never really did the solo live like this ever, so my guess is that the studio solo is a one take where he just let himself loose. It doesn’t really feel ”written”.
