California Waste Solutions | Peterbilt 320 McNeilus M/A (

So this is what the "second generation" of one-way California Waste Solutions trucks consisted of. A small handful of these in particular were ordered back in 2007 for both the Oakland and San Jose yards (if I'm not mistaken this truck was originally white, and was repainted back in 2007). Even though most of the time the Lodal EVO handled the one-way streets, the two low-entry M/A's the yard had would fill in if the Lodal EVO needed to be sent to the shop.

According to someone on Instagram, these are outfitted with a Barker brand cart tipper. I couldn't find any branding decals, nor any diagrams of this particular tipper so I'll take it with a grain of salt. Around here you see nothing but Perkins, Bayne and Diamondback Tippers, so it's quite interesting to see something else. These seem to work really well too seeing how high they tip the carts into the hopper, and it tends to distribute trash away from the side of the hopper. Accompanying that with the extremely tall hopper shield, and a driver can basically utilize the entire hopper space with no issues.

Filming just this seven minute video was a real headache. The two one-way streets in downtown are some of the busiest during the time this video was filmed, with almost zero parking. As heard in the background at 0:55, it also tends to be a bit of a hazard when you mix in aggressive drivers.

As with all of the diesel trucks, these are unfortunately being slated for the scrapper, though in the meantime these have sat for close to a year on the spare line. What has replaced these are basically almost identically spec'd out Peterbilt 520 McNeilus M/A's, with the exception of the absolutely atrocious Perkins D6098b tipper.
