North American P-51D Mustang of Norwegian Spitfire Foundation ( dark green and light blue with shark mouth painted on GA-S ) 1650hp Rolls Royce Merlin engine, max speed 505mph, this was built in North American’s plant in Inglewood California and delivered to the US Army Air Force ( USAAF ) in july 1945,most of its service life spent with training units in USA, then Royal Canadian Air Force in 1951. It was retired by them in 1958. It passed into private ownership and was restored and taken to Norway in 1986. Its been on the European air show circuit since as “ old crow” . recently it was painted to represent a Mustang MK 1VA ( RAF equivalent of USAAF’s P-51D KH774 GA-S which belonged to 112 squadron of RAF when it was bases in Italy in 1945.
North American P-51D Mustang of Boultbee Flying Academy ( silver and blue livery HD USAF logo on side , M on tail, ) 1315hp Rolls Royce Packard Merlin V1650-7 engine, max speed 460mph, this was delivered to US Army Air Force in 1945, “ Miss Helen “ was with the 352nd Fighter Group in ww2 based at RAF Bodney in Norfolk it was known as the “ blue nosed bastard of Bodney “ it has a number of confirmed kills to its name, its also been flown as “miss Nita “ after WW2 it served with the Royal Swedish Air Force and the Israeli Air Force. It stared in Memphis Belle the movie from 1990 see https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100133/... in 2019 its based at Goodwood Aerodrome UK, this is the last known original 352nd Fighter Group P-51D that exists. Its in the same livery as it had in 1945.

The Collision is over 10minutes into this video If you really are pressed for time but as i said watch it all as you deserve to see these awesome aircraft, this was filmed on a Panasonic 4K 2160p Camcorder i only bought it 3 days before this Airshow ! , ( no one else filmed this collision as far as i know & this video is of course copyrighted ) the mayday emergency landing is about another minute after the collision you can hear on my scanner some chatter & you can see the tail ( horizontal stabilizer ) is badly damaged after 11mins50+ into the video ,the pilot was very lucky as this came extremely close to being a disaster, accident report is out by july 2018 here https://www.gov.uk/aaib-reports/aaib-... , can i ask you guys how did you find my video ? was it promoted to you by Youtube after you saw someone else's video or was it via a link on another website eg Digg ? or how ? just trying to work out why lots of people suddenly find a video of mine , thanks a lot any of you that tell me this : ) , Always change quality to 4k or 1080p or original quality as Youtube default to a lower resolution so video doesnt look as good as it should !
