I’ve always wanted to capture a photo of a red-winged blackbird with its breath visible in the crisp morning air. One of those dream shots I hadn’t chased until now. With the right conditions finally lining up, I headed to Miner’s Marsh for an early morning shoot, hoping everything would come together. While a bit of wind made it tricky, I came away with some shots I’m really happy with and plan to improve on next season.
Afterward, I made my way to Grand Pré in search of bald eagles or owls. I spotted a few eagles and respectfully kept my distance. This resulting in heavily cropped shots, but it was still a rewarding experience. I finished off the outing by scouting a nearby spot as a potential Milky Way location for later in the season.
Sometimes it’s not just about the images—it’s about the chase. Hope you enjoy the journey with me.
