The subway in Essen, Germany is a unique ride. If you get a chance ride the U11 underground train from start to stop. Fantastic underground station architecture across a broad variety of social places, from Philharmonie to Kaiser-Wilhelm-Park. And with the changing scenery the sounds change from screeches to clatter to the wintersoundscape, the hum of the heating system.
