Review of "The Human Magnet Syndrome" by Ross Rosenberg

Almost 2 years ago someone mentioned to me that the person I was with was a covert narcissist. I didn't want to believe her for a while. Eventually I saw the writing on the wall and it was written in bold. Then I started seeking answers online. I found one of Ross Rosenberg's videos in which he talked about the dynamics of a relationship between a codependent and a narcissist/emotional manipulator. I had kept asking myself, if the relationship really wasn't healthy then why did I feel like it was so perfect at first?! I couldn't reconcile this within myself until I heard Ross say in one of his videos, "There is no relationship that feels so perfect as that between a codependent and a narcissist." He explained how the opposite charges attract with intense chemistry. Thanks to his words, I had my first "Aha!" moment and set off on my journey to get to the bottom of this. I recently read his book, "The Human Magnet Syndrome" and I highly recommend it to help you understand why you were attracted to an abusive person to begin with. In the intro he writes, "If this book had just one purpose, it would be to give hope to others who, like myself, yearned for 'true love' but, instead, kept finding 'true dysfunction'." This video is a review of the book and the insights I gained from it.
