To ensure consistency, fairness, and accuracy in evaluating the education of foreign-educated physical therapists and physical therapist assistants using the updated CAPTE Standards and Required Elements, the FSBPT collaborated with DCI and a panel of subject matter experts in physical therapy education and regulation to develop the newest versions of its credentialing evaluation tools: CWT 7 and PTA Tool 3. This session explored the collaborative process behind the creation of these updated tools, including methodology, stakeholder input, and how they better align international educational credentials with US standards. Attendees gained insight into the rigorous approach taken to ensure validity, relevance, and usability—and the implications for regulators, educators, and internationally educated applicants.
