Referencing a coastal lifestyle, Jardan Byron Bay echoes the tones and textures of the natural surrounds. Crafted by IF Architecture, the showroom aligns the most beautiful furniture with sustainability and home comfort.
“We've always been drawn to Byron Bay for its unique blend of creativity, sustainability and natural beauty,” says Nick Garnham, co-managing director at Jardan. “It's a place where people value quality and thoughtful design, making it a perfect fit for Jardan.” The showroom begins with a raised platform to the left of the entrance, which presents the most beautiful furniture in a casual lounge format. This area leads to a bedding display, dining area and bedroom and lighting set. Along the back wall, timber joinery is used to display both locally made and imported items.
“We’ve got beautiful art from local artists, pendant lighting, and then when you move further down the showroom, you’ve got other dining areas and more lounge room areas, so you can really imagine what it might be like to live with Jardan in your own space,” says Garnham. Echoing the coast, the materials used in Jardan Byron Bay are natural and earthy. While the walls are covered in soft limestone render, built columns are adorned with ceramic tiles and the floor is laid with travertine to complement the most beautiful furniture. “Our local-first ethos is about supporting local artisans using locally sourced materials and creating designs that resonate with the local community,” says Garnham. “In our Byron Bay showroom, this ethos is reflected in everything from the furniture we display to the materials we've chosen and the collaborations we've pursued.”
Spacious yet intimate, Jardan Byron Bay balances a large volume with the most beautiful furniture. IF Architecture selects an open-floor plan to match the grandeur of high ceilings and large windows, before tempering the effect with a thoughtful layout of forms. The result is a bright, airy interior that retains a sense of warmth and welcome, decorated in soft blue, green and sand tones.
As sofas are a vital part of the Jardan brand, they are proudly displayed in the showroom. In all facets, the pieces express a quality-driven approach in harmony with the environment; they utilise hardwood frames, CFC-free foams, sustainably sourced timbers and, regarding textiles, speak to histories of craft. “We travel around the world and love to visit all the textile mills and tanneries from where we support our fabric,” says Garnham. The most beautiful furniture captures linen sourced from the oldest mill in Belgium, wools from New Zealand and plain fabrics from Italy. The service counter, made to stand out to visitors, consists of rich Patagonia stone.
Filled with natural materials and the most beautiful furniture, Jardan Byron Bay connects to the values of the people living in the coastal town. Through elevated design, IF Architecture strengthens the bond between Jardan, the Australian coast and the local context.
