We join the train at Liverpool Road Station which is now part of the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester. Peckett 0-4-0 saddle tank No. 1163 then takes us for a ride on the musem railway. At the far end of the site we reverse into a siding where a diesel shunter locomotive is stored before retracing the route to the station. Tt is no longer possible to follow the full route taken by our train as the museum line has been severed permanently near the reversal point by the construction of Network Rail's "Ordsall Chord" railway line.
