【宮城／続日本100名城】白石城／片倉小十郎の居城 - Shiroishi Castle in MIYAGI, JAPAN /Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles -

白石城は、宮城県白石市にある平山城。戦国時代末期に城主が何度か変遷し、江戸時代に仙台藩重臣の片倉氏の居城となりました。白石城は、江戸幕府の一国一城令の対象外とされ明治維新まで存続します。
慶応四年／明治元年（1868年）、戊辰戦争の際、奥羽諸藩の代表がここ白石城に集まり白石列藩会議を開きました。これが奥羽越列藩同盟の結成につながることになります。
平成二十九年（2017年）、続日本百名城（105番）に選定。

Shiroishi Castle is a flat mountain castle located in Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture. The lord of the castle changed several times at the end of the Warring States period, and during the Edo period, it became the residence of the Katakura clan, a vassal of the Sendai domain. Shiroishi Castle was exempted from the Edo Shogunate's "one castle, one country" ordinance and survived until the Meiji Restoration.
In 1868, during the Boshin War, representatives of the Ou clans held a meeting at Shiroishi Castle. This led to the formation of the Ouetsu Confederation.
In 2017, it was selected as one of the Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles (#105).
