In the order they appear on the sleeve shown, Jessica Holder, Amanda Wilding, Phylicia Dyer and Jodie Miller were all aged between 9 to 11 years old when they arrived on the pop scene as BreZe at the end of the '90s. They were all pupils at the Barbara Speake Stage School in London when industry veteran Bill Kimber (Bucks Fizz, Eurythmics) discovered them and they set their hearts on the pop charts. BreZe bagged a £500,000 record deal with WEA's 360 Records and dropped their debut single in November 1999. 'My Heart Goes Boom' was written by Marwenna Diame (Scooch, Damage) and ex-Living In A Box frontman Richard Darbyshire (Lisa Stansfield, Kavana, Adam Rickitt, No Mercy). It was produced by The Beatmasters (Betty Boo, Yazz, Shamen, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure) and tipped as a possible Christmas number one, but the single... went flop. It spent just one week on the chart, peaking at #66 (I think? The official charts page entry for this is looking very wrong!). A follow-up single and album were completed apparently, but amidst an apparent backlash from concerned parents, BreZe quietly disbanded.
In January 2013, the girls set up a Facebook page (BreZeGirlBand) and announced that they had decided to re-launch, were already signed to a new deal and were currently in the recording studio working on new tracks. The updates stopped in May the same year.
