MOONG DAL KHICHADI
INGREDIENTS :
2 tbsp of ghee
1 tsp of cumin seeds
1 cup of soaked moong dal
1 cup of soaked of rice (soaked for 45 minutes)
2 cups of vegetables (Carrots, Potatoes, Peas)
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1 pinch of red chilli (1/4 tsp)
1 cup of peas
6 cups of water
Salt to taste
METHOD:
Heat 2 tbsp of ghee
Splutter 1 tsp of cumin seeds
Add 1 cup of soaked moong dal
1 cup of soaked of rice (45 minutes)
Add 2 cups of vegetables (1 potato, carrots,
Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
Add 1 pinch of red chilli (1/4 tsp)
Add 1 cup of peas
(CHECK INGREDIENTS)
Add 6 cups of water to it
Add Salt to taste
Cover and cook it on a medium to low flame for 30 minutes
After the rice gets cooked with the vegetables,
Remove in a serving bowl, add a dollop of ghee
Serve with Achar or Raita
