I found this amazing old 1909 Canadian Pacific Railway station on a local classified site asking if there was anyone interested in saving this old Train Station.
Originally built in Whitla, a now ghost town, this station was loaded on train car and moved down the tracks to it's second home in Burdett, Alberta, after that community lost their station to a fire. It was used until 1975 when passenger services were no longer offered. The previous owner bought the station after it closed, and the station was again moved a second time by the owner himself to this beautiful acreage, just south of Bow Island. Where he renovated it into a private residence.
Unfortunately, like most historic structures, the building needs too much work for the older owner, so the current owner needed the building to be removed in order to build their new home. I was very fortunate to have him let me take a tour of the beautiful historic structure before it was destroyed by local fire departments for training, later in September 2025.
Filmed July 5, 2025.
Fortymile County, Alberta, Canada.
