It was a cold and calm winter morning in Kangra when I began this narrow-gauge ride from Baijnath to Joginder Nagar. The valley was slowly waking up, the air had that perfect winter chill, and the little ZDM-4 stood there with its quiet charm.
With the coach almost empty, the journey felt personal. We rolled past streams, small bridges, and those sudden sunlit patches as the loco worked its way up the gradients. By the time we reached Ajhu, the Dhauladhars appeared clear and majestic—a moment that stays with you.
