A detailed view of my first dimethicone test with a fluid acrylic dirty pour. The result? CELLS galore!! See what I used, the cell-filled pour, and how I added beautiful, lacy edges for a wonderful effect.

I thank you in advance for wanting to keep this channel going. It means a lot to me.
= Once my paintings dry, I spray them with a low odor, user-friendly, crystal clear, museum-quality varnish designed for acrylics, oils and watercolors. It gives a glossy finish.

When I want to spray a matte/satin finish instead, I use this: http://amzn.to/2fvgYF0
= For this painting I used all Artist's Loft acrylic paints from Michaels...
Brilliant Magenta
Yellow
Turquoise
Neon Green (with a little white mixed in)
I used Artist’s Loft Flow Acrylic White for the negative space.
= This is my usual formula for all the paint:
1 - 2 parts paint to 5 parts Floetrol
I then add a little water if necessary to get my paint to be the consistency of really warm honey, or like heavy cream. The amount of water will depend on the type of acrylic paint you used ... Flow acrylic (runny like house paint) will need very little water if any, while medium to heavy body paint (thick like toothpaste) will need more water. Try to limit the amount of water that you use ... too much will break down the binding properties of the acrylic paint. How much is too much? Try to keep the amount of water under 50% of the amount of paint.
Ordinarily, right before I prepare my dirty pour, I add a few drops (3 to 6 drops) of silicone into each color EXCEPT the white (or whatever negative space color you choose). The fact that the white has no silicone encourages the other colors to bleed into the white and "cell" up.
In this painting I used a dimethicone hair serum as a replacement for silicone oil : http://amzn.to/2z0Oknw
= When I do use silicone, my favorite is "3 in1 All Temp Silicone", available at most hardware stores. You can also get it here: http://amzn.to/2fyKPwr
The reasons I prefer it are:
because it dries .... leaves virtually no oily residue once a painting has dried
has no fumes like the spray silicones
comes in a super convenient applicator bottle (with a cap that stays attached!)
But, any silicone you have should get you cells.
= This was done on an 8 x 8 inch canvas panel ... The dirty pour was 60 ml (2 ounces) and I spread about 10 ml of white paint on the canvas to wet it down before the pour.
Thank you in advance for watching the videos, sharing them, commenting and leaving a thumbs up. Your kindness helps my channel continue and it is all greatly appreciated! May the alcohol inks, resin, and paints be kind, and may the pours be with you. 😊💕
