Every squirrel really does have its own unique and recognizable personality. This squirrel is named Lady Squirrel. She is the only backyard squirrel we have ever had around here that was anywhere near this friendly or bold.
Generally the wild squirrels in my area are quite skittish. It's pretty rare for one to even get very close to you when you are outside. However one day, when I was setting up my camera to take a photo for my backyardsquirrels.com website, she just jumped right up on me by surprise. She continued to do this, and eventually she would come to me in the yard and jump right up for a snack. Sometimes if I wasn't quick enough, she would climb all over, or even dig in my pockets to help herself to whatever nuts were in there.
