This Week I Bought: Modal Soul by Nujabes

This week I bought my favourite album by Japanese producer Nujabes, "Modal Soul". I've been listening to this one on streaming services / youtube for years, so I'm glad to finally have it in my collection. This is certainly the defining record of the genre for me, and I think the way that it flows between jazz, classical, hip hop, rnb and soundscape is absolutely masterful. It's also interesting to note that given that it was released in 2005, it's cool that there is a female MC featured on one of the tracks (Thank you feat. Apani B) which wasn't that common at the time.
