Once a week, you can try cleaning your parquet floors using this alternative method: add table salt and a little dishwashing liquid to the bucket of hot water you normally use for this chore; you can reduce the amount of the regular cleaner you use and your parquet will sparkle again.

Once a month, you can put a cup of white vinegar on the top rack of your dishwasher and then sprinkle a little baking soda onto the bottom; if you like, you can also place the dishwasher's filter on the top rack (you obviously won't wash other dirty items at the same time); now, simply run a short cycle on a high heat setting to clean everything thoroughly.
