Built as a pleasure palace where the Prince Archbishop of Salzburg could invite guests and entertain them with a few jokes - often at the guests own expense! - the early Baroque Schloss Hellbrunn somehow captures Mozart’s humorous spirit more perfectly than anywhere else. On this week’s snapshot, we get to visit the palace’s grounds, discover magical grottos, a water-powered mechanical theatre dating back to 1750, and see its famous Wasserspiele - trick fountains! - in action, all while learning about Mozart‘s own witty, charming and sometimes off-color sense of humor!
