This is the first video in a series I plan on doing for Youtube. While it is not the entire process, you can see the basic method removing background. I use a 110 degree graver with a 20 degree heel to outline the spaces that will be removed. Then the negative space is cut with the graver in a crosshatched manner, and finally I go in with a rotary tool, and remove the rest. Some flats and other gravers are used for tricky areas sometimes.
The tools used in this video are....
GRS Gravermach AT with 901 and Monarch Handpieces
Tools used- 110 graver, #36, flat graver, GRS 850 Rotary handpiece and 0.5mm carbide ball burr.
Leica A60 Microscope
Steve Lindsay Turntable vise and Stand
.999 fine silver / 18k gold wire
