Can I see light? Flashlight experiment on my blind eyes!

Please do not try this flashlight experiment at home! My eyes have been completely damaged from my eye disease and retinal detachments over the past 12 years so my retinas are already burnt out. There was no harm done to my eyes for my demonstration.

However, I really do hope through my experiment/demonstration I was able to put anyone’s doubts or questions about my eyesight or lack there of to rest. More importantly, I pray my fun demonstration, has helped to open your eyes and minds to see my blindness in a different more beautiful light. 💛

When I lost my complete eyesight and light perception on this 12 year journey, at first it was extremely painful and sorrowful. I suffered depression, I grieved my loss, but through that pain and sorrow, and through my faith and determination to keep believing in moving forward, God has opened the eyes of my heart, mind, and soul, to see this world with a different set of eyes. People ask me all the time how do I choose this joy, how do I have this perspective, and you know what? All I can say is that it’s because I live and operate with a heart full of hope, faith, and joy. I never allowed my disappointments to defeat me, but have allowed them to empower me to do greater things! I have fought through my tears and fears to turn my darkest nights into the most beautiful sunniest days.

I have learned on this journey that if I cannot change my circumstance, I have to except it and make the best of it. Once you make peace with your circumstance and you surrender your control, which for me was surrendering it all to God, I was able to see my purpose and the vision for my life more clearly. So no, it has not been an easy journey, and I still have my moments and days where I am challenged, but because I choose to look at the bigger picture, instead of zooming in on the small details of my life, I am able to live a peaceful gorgeous life Full of so much beauty, and of course.... JOY!
