Say goodbye to basic totes! In this Marathon Sewciety tutorial, I’m transforming the Lauren Tote by Lauren Mormino into a fashion-forward East-West bag for 2025. With Lauren’s permission, I’ve hacked the pattern to give it a whole new look – sleek, modern, and on-trend, Why design a new pattern when this great tote pattern with some adjustments will work perfectly.
I cut- less 4 1/4" in height of the body. Made the body and base 1" narrower (off the center of the pattern keeping the box sides the same). The Zipper overlay is 1/2" narrower.
