The REAL reason the Portuguese speak so FAST

I often hear the Portuguese speak so fast. I could argue the same for other languages, but… The point is, if it feels like European Portuguese is spoken very fast, then the question should not be whether it is, but why? How come understanding what the Portuguese say is such a struggle?

Whatever you do, do not ask the Portuguese to speak slower! That’s almost as if you were asking words that are meant to be together, to divorce!!

You may have heard me speak about the Queen of Portuguese, which partially explains why we emphasize more parts of the word when we speak, than what looks like in written Portuguese.
