It’s an epic song from the James Bond movie. And it’s got an interesting bassline! In the intro John Taylor plays his own bassmelody which fits in perfect with the song. Than he starts a C pedal in the first Verse (playing the C note against the Cm G Bb and F chords). In the Interlude and Verse 2 he repeats the same licks as in the intro. He ends the Verse with a beautiful lick (bar 37- 38).
As he says himself he plays a kind of a ‘disco’ feel in the Chorus with the octaves. To give a contrast with this ‘disco’ feel he again plays a pedal C in Verse 3.
