Timelapse: Nighttime Lake YCH Raffle (14 characters)

The other day, I found myself with a pose and background idea but no appropriate character to use for it. I decided to keep working on the illustration, hoping I'd come up with something, but by the time the scenery was finished, I still had no idea who would be appropriate! I still liked the original character sketch, but started noodling to see if I could come up with something else that would work with my background, and ended up with two more poses in a similar vein.

I decided to turn it into a YCH (Your Character Here) raffle, which I held on Bluesky. I used one of my own characters in one of the new poses as an example of what the end result might look like. I fought to find a way to display everything in an aesthetically pleasing manner. I set the end date for my birthday, which at the time was ten days away. I went to bed.

Then I woke up to a manic episode. One thing led to another and before I knew it I'd drawn ALL the entrants, with five days left before the raffle was supposed to actually take place. Oops! At that point I figured I should just keep going. Everyone's a winner! Sort of, haha.

Elapsed time, according to Procreate: 68 hours, 54 minutes. Woof.
