Castle Combe Autumn Classic 2025 - Day 1 Highlights - Spins, Saves, Close Racing, Pure Sound!

The 20th September saw my annual pilgrimage to Castle Combe for Day 1 of their annual Autumn Classic event which always delivers a wide variety of historic racing, with this years lineup including everything from Minis to GT Cars, along with the Formula Junior Championship, which returned to the event for this year's Single Seater fix after a few years away!

It was another brilliant day of action-packed racing with some great battles throughout all the grids, highlights for me included the Mini 7 Racing Club which always delivers some spectacular action, including a 5-way fight for the lead during the final few laps of the Mini 7 race! Unfortunately the Miglia race would never get away due to time constraints, though there was some good action through the Esses during qualifying.

Another yearly highlight is the 90 minute 'Endurance' race for the GT & Sports Car Cup which takes centre-stage at the event, with another bumper grid this year featuring a wide range of marques, including AC, Austin, Jaguar, Lotus, Mini & TVR. A deluge of rain during the race led to some big moments, with some great slides especially from the Cobras, E-Types & Healeys on the exit of Quarry!
