Final Week of Class 455 Operation December 2025

In this video, we see a selection of shots of the final few Class 455s operating with South Western Railway during their final week of regular operation, culminating in their final scheduled passenger and empty departures from London Waterloo on the evening of the 23rd of December 2025 and into the small hours of Christmas Eve, 24th December 2025. A few Class 455s will be retained into 2026, until the lease runs out in case of a shortage of available Class 701s, however, there will be no more regularly scheduled runs and rostering onto services will be on an ad-hoc basis. This withdrawal marks the last BREL Mk3 EMUs operating in London, an end of an era for London Suburban Rail services.
