The rubber friction pad was... Let's say it did the job.
But here I am, three months later and sick of it. It wears out so quickly that it is no practical, and before I start fiddling around with different rubber grades, I decided to go full metal.
Instead of a spring to create the friction, I modify the design to be able to use a round bar and pinchable bushing and hope to reduce the maintenance intervals to a minimum.
