The Plymouth Barracuda was a coupé produced by the Plymouth division of the Chrysler Group. The first model was launched on 1 April 1964, a few weeks before its most serious competitor, the Ford Mustang. The Barracuda was quickly overtaken by Ford's Mustang, Chevrolet's Camaro and Pontiac's Firebird. The Barracuda didn't really make a name for itself until 1970, when it became a symbol of power.
